Description
The new Q-TOF mass spectrometer LCMS-9030 combines Shimadzu’s ultrafast quadrupole (Q) technology with a high-resolution time-of-flight (TOF) mass analyzer. Building on decades of experience in mass spectrometry design and production, Shimadzu has created the liquid quadrupole/time-of-flight mass spectrometer LCMS-9030, capable of handling the most complex qualitative and quantitative analytical challenges.
For analytical tasks requiring extremely high sensitivity, triple quadrupole mass spectrometers such as LCMS-8050 and LCMS-8060 are typically used. However, even these highly sensitive instruments cannot fully address another crucial challenge — reliably determining the nature and structure of all organic compounds obtained during synthesis. The LCMS-9030, which integrates quadrupole and time-of-flight mass analyzers, is designed precisely for this purpose.
The LCMS-9030 incorporates newly patented technologies that provide high mass resolution and accurate molecular weight determination — key factors for identifying unknown compounds and elucidating molecular structures. In addition to the standard Electrospray Ionization (ESI) source, the instrument can be equipped with an Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionization (APCI) source or a Dual Ionization Source (DUIS), enabling simultaneous ionization in both modes.
